Speedrunning Features

Many Pokémon games have lots of features that add bulk to the games and give outlets of aspirations for players (Trainers, partially depending on the game) to work on and pursue. Not surprisingly, it is also that "bulk" that makes things hard for them, with particular regard of dealing with them - with speed, no less. With that, I had a thought about the specific concern of making "speedruns" with them in more than one respect, and I've decided to try to write a little something about that... perhaps in a bit of a speedy manner as well.

In one sense, the "speedrunning" is for testing through them - which many should so that others don't have to, and especially so if the player is marked for beta testing as with the case sometimes in Pokémon Go. Even if testing isn't a concern (or more specifically, is already done), it may be that they're needed for certain purposes that players need, for example leveling up (Pokémon Go) or facilitating Pokémon transfers (with relation to the main series). In that case, speed may be of some absolute importance for getting things done.

Outside of the games, there may be the need to understand the features quickly, whether that would be for personal needs or the need of sharing that understanding with others. The latter evidently can take many forms from the verbal to the visual, perhaps including what you're reading right now. The speed may also be relative, depending on the Pokémon game and the relevant player base, but if the need for speed presents itself, then the players in the player base can and do have a way of making it happen - a bit of comfort and motivation.

Speed may or may not be a necessary aspect of the features in question for the Pokémon games, but the concern of "speedrunning" through the features may be something that makes itself necessary according to the player bases of the games and what the aims of that "speed run" may be. Given the "bulk" of the games, which may be a partial result of the features in question, there could also be the need to downplay that bulk and allow the players in the player base to pursue and work on more aspirations than ever before with a "speed run".

Now, I think I've got a bit of feature "speedrunning" to do in my own (Pokémon) case...
