The Season of Dual Destiny

And of course, the start of the next month is the start of the season. The closing of the end-of-season post is meant to tease the name and content of this new season, which has an element of "two" in it. Appropriately, the new season is called "Dual Destiny", which definitely alludes to how based on the main series games, Pokémon always has an element of duality to it, whether of versions, aspects, forms, and so on and so forth. With the new season being what it is, it looks to promise things that cater to or represent that duality, if the preview image of the season (and its representative logo) doesn't already suggest as such.

True to that, the logo has shades of black and white, in addition to a small bit of other colors; the two mentioned colors are the ones that are representative of the fifth generation games and by extension their region, Unova. Pokémon Go Tour, which will come later on (near the end of) this season, has in fact been announced along with the start of this season to feature this region, obviously continuing in sequence from last year. It'll have most of the expected and similar features from this year and some years past, although I'll have more on this much later, closer to the actual event itself. After all, there is always the chance for some other destinies to manifest during that time.

Just like most other Pokémon Go seasons, I'm also going to consider other happenings in other Pokémon realms to manifest over the course of this season. The last month of this season and what occurs on its tail end is always a particularly happening time for Pokémon in general, which goes back to the "manifest destiny" remark as I've just mentioned above. As with other seasons, the manifestations and destinies will eventually be discussed as the season ends; before then, there will be time over the three months of the season for those manifestations and destinies to take place. It will be quite fascinating to find out what transpires and what their fates will be during that time.

I have to say before closing this post that for certain technical reasons, the start of the season is actually slightly delayed, but not by too much - just for a day or so. The previous season therefore "overflows" slightly into (what is supposed to be the start of) the next one. That also means this start-of-season post doesn't actually mark the occasion, and it still becomes somewhat of a "teaser". Yet for reasons of formality, convenience, and continuity, much of which can be explained by posts from previous years (see below), I still write up this post on this day. This will also represent the approach for the seasons going forward, though I'll still mention the circumstance if it does happen.

Duality is (and hopefully will always be) a given with the way that Pokémon is, by its main series games. Fates and destinies are more uncertain things, with or without Pokémon, and they'll always have their own ways of manifesting, sometimes in ways that are unexpected. Both of these now have been made to come together in a Pokémon Go season that will seem to manifest to be one of the more unique ones. In any case, as previously teased, this will be the time for some things to be selected and determined (or refined) from one of two (or possibly more) paths; after that point, clarity in manifestation is to be expected.
