The Season of Mythical Wishes

The new Pokémon Go season, its ninth overall since the season system began, is now here. As I've teased the other day, its keywords are "aspirations" and "fabled existence"; that's because the season is called the Season of Mythical Wishes. It's also notable as the first season that has a name made up of two words, with all previous seasons consisting of one-word names. Given its two-word name, it might suggest a certain heftiness, especially with how the season will progress in its usual timeframe.

As usual, the December season will take things through to February, and February is known among fans of Pokémon as the anniversary month, and more recently among Trainers of Pokémon Go as the "Go Tour" month. Those are already important, and for the latter, in fact, it has been verified right away: Pokémon Go Tour - Hoenn will come in that month, and a taste of it can already be had early on in the season, a couple of days from now. The anniversary isn't of a special year - unlike two years ago - but there will certainly be its happenings. Many aspirations ("wishes") will have to be responded for both.

Next is the "Mythical" part. For Hoenn, the prime Mythical Pokémon is certainly Jirachi, who is a symbol of the stars and - certainly - of wishes, both fulfilled and unfulfilled. It is thus the prime symbol of this season as well - in a way, hence the name. As for other Mythical Pokémon, at least one might have its time in the spotlight during this season, and more might provide answers (to aspirations) throughout the season. Back to Jirachi, its Shiny form will answer (fulfill) a few aspirations of its own, so this is also important, even if the timing may be protracted. At least in this sense, there's a lot of the "Mythical" quality and aspect to consider.

Could other matters related to the two aspects above be involved? December is certainly the month for the northern hemisphere winter holidays, so some aspirations may be floating around during this time of year, and particularly for Pokémon fans. Whether those aspirations have any semblance of the "Mythical" quality, that may be up to individual fans to say, but it is likely that regardless of what Pokémon matter is involved, there may be connections to be made to something "Mythical". As with previous seasons, this may not necessarily involve Pokémon Go and may just tie in with other Pokémon matters.

Every season of Pokémon Go is special for their methods of bringing in what Trainers desire. For this season, though, the method may seem to be extra special because of the things that the season will entail, particularly towards its tail end. The quintessence of "Mythical", as an identifier for some extra-special Pokémon species, and the desires of fans or Trainers are seemingly destined to combine all throughout this season. And why not - this time of this year and the next couldn't be a better time for making them come true.
