As one plays through Pokémon Café Remix, it becomes noticeable that Pokémon who join the staff are not only obtained from completing main orders, but also from special events that occur in periods of many days. These events often reward many useful items for progressing through the game, but it is certain that what many will seek is the opportunity for another Pokémon to join the staff, which may or may not come again (at least, in the same type). Those types are quite varied as well and deserve to be understood in some capacity.
First, there are individual point events. In these events, points are accumulated by playing solo through certain orders (stages) and clearing them to do so. Some Pokémon encountered in earlier events may help to provide greater point boosts for this event. There are 30 possible items to be earned - one of them being the Pokémon that can be hired - and each item requires certain point thresholds to be met; completing the event allows one to have a full-fledged Pokémon staff member that can be raised as well as the item bonuses. More recently, though, this event type has adopted One-Minute Cooking orders that serve for the earning of points instead of completing main orders, which is called the "hospitality" format. Either way, anyone ought to be able to fully take advantage of this event type by themselves.
In contrast to the above, there are team point events. As expected, for this, the points are earned collectively by the members of the team one belongs to. The same stages are played in order to earn the points, with each member of the team contributing. There are fewer items to be collected, but the thresholds are much larger in order to accommodate all team members, which indeed may have to be numerous for this purpose. Unfortunately, that is also the clutch, because if they don't actively contribute (even with many team members) or don't contribute sufficiently regardless, not all the rewards can be gained. Recently, the event type has also stipulated that each member must contribute some points in order to earn the rewards, which may or may not be helpful. Still, these events just need to be progressed through as best as possible, regardless of one's current team.
Yet another event type with a more interesting structure is a task-based challenge, which for those who play Pokémon Go might remind of Special Research and their tasks. In fact, they practically work the same way. Tasks are laid out in "cards", three tasks to a card, which may have progress bars to indicate how much more needs to be completed. Completion of each task rewards a specific item, completion of all tasks on a card rewards the special item for that card, and completion of all cards ends the event of concern. Though most of these events don't reward a new Pokémon to join the staff, such a reward is not outlandish, and as a matter of fact, one previous edition did reward a Pokémon. The event type is therefore included here for posterity and completeness.
Lastly, there are the One-Minute Cooking challenges that are implemented for specific Pokémon, for which I've already explained the framework in a separate post and still applies today. As with some events above, there are fascinating recent twists. These challenges can be for regular Pokémon as well, and in this case, one does not earn Legendary Coins, but some apropos item acting as a "pseudo currency" for the items in the respective Swap Shops. Speaking of those Swap Shops, they now contain more exchangeable items than ever before, and that may present two alternatives: continue to grind for all items or as many items as possible, which may or may not be feasible, or grind for as much of the "pseudo currency" as possible and then exchange for the items that are truly necessary, which is likely more feasible. The choice is up to one to make, but the Pokémon joining the staff remains important.
With all of the event types above, it's clear that Café Remix provides not only the Pokémon to join one's staff roster, but also the support system for and in allowing the Pokémon to join. As such, expanding the understanding of their types by the explanations above is quite well to do. They all do have their own intricacies, but it is quite possible to work with them and gain all the (necessary) rewards, including the Pokémon to join the staff. That will certainly translate into further progression within Café Remix.
