Pokémon Go Tools in Niantic Campfire

Recently, Niantic Campfire has become available locally, and my raid group (and certainly other groups involved in the hosting of local Community Day meetups) have made use of the app for this purpose, meaning that I've had to download it and make use of it as well. Even so, it does have a few useful tools to supplement what happens in Pokémon Go, and they deserve some exploration in order to understand what they are and how they are useful.

Once one has signed in with a Niantic Account (through the usual means of logging into Pokémon Go), one can then see Gyms, raids, and even Routes within the area, including those that would ordinarily be too far away to be seen from within Pokémon Go. For elements other than these, someone could also light up a "flare" to highlight something interesting - though all the usual cautionary warnings apply to exploring one of these.

Perhaps the most important part of the experience is joining up with a group, which could be a local Pokémon Go community group or even a global group, though the former is certainly preferred to a good extent. These groups look somewhat like the ones from a certain gaming social media platform, including separated discussions, though with a few other specific location-based ties, important for the next point.

Another benefit of joining community groups is being able to be invited to certain meetups, not just for Community Day but also for Spotlight Hour and even Raid Hour. For those certain meetups, by marking "I'm Going" and then checking in when allowed, one can then earn a code to be redeemed as with any other code in the Web Store for items. It also acts as a method of in-person registration, replacing the use of forms.

Now, with the Pokémon Go tools provided by Niantic Campfire, it makes sense why groups are using it or being prompted to use it. There is value in the tools, both immediate and expected, with everything revolving around being connected. I surely benefit from that value and those connections as well, which means further usage of them as my Pokémon Go adventures go on here, there, and everywhere.
