Pokémon Unite is actually a quite intensive game, if the experiences of players (Trainers) like me are of any indication. More recently, though (as in - right now), perhaps it might be considered too intensive due to all the events that are going on, and simultaneously or at the same time nonetheless. This situation does seem to demand a little exploration in order to make a full judgment of it and to find the best course of action for dealing with it.
Currently, besides the usual regular gameplay elements and associated events, there are events for a certain rainbow bird Pokémon, a supplementary event for the current Battle Pass (titled "Dark Lord"), a mini-event featuring Urshifu with its own reward tracks ("free" and "premium", the latter paid with Aeos Gems), and the anniversary event. As if that's not enough, there is an ongoing Panic Parade run as well as a Solo Challenge run, which are technically regular recurrent ones but for this purpose are regarded as live events due to their limited periods. That's a total of six events, two of which demand play by a specific map or unique format; it does seem like a lot going on at the same time, including with regular Battle Pass and Ranked match duties that aren't technically events but may tie into them.
That said, seasoned players can and should be able to make a major progress dent in them as some of their objectives stack up and can be accomplished through just regular play (both Quick and Ranked matches). Admittedly, it's the ones with specific maps or unique formats that pose the greatest problems, for which extra effort does seem to be needed, and that does implicate a doubling up of effort when they are demanded to be played. There is also the possibility that some battles may not turn out in the preferred outcome - whether most likely a win or the completion of certain tasks - and that seems to contribute to the "too many things to do" aspect that can't be easily resolved with just a few plays or a limited time for them. The occasion of the anniversary also adds some weight to the efforts.
While some players may not have been that fervent with Pokémon Unite - for example, yours truly - they might still sense the "workload" that has to be done regularly to maintain the pace in the game. And at this point in time, that "workload" may evidently seem multiplied due to the new content and its realization as a multitude of events. If there is a time to realize and experience the intensity of the game, that time may very well be now.
